Abstract Art
For years I have created work based on what I see, therefore I knew if it worked and was finished. I wanted to explore something different.
After painting ant the Art Students League in New York City and started exploring Abstract Art.
I am now painting what I do not see.
The base is symbolism, a story I told myself. I was told “If you want to be brave, roll it up, open a small section at a time, paint really close to the canvas only focussing on the lines and how they work together". I did this and continued this until I had reworked the whole canvas. Once I opened it all up I thought I would have to connect the sections as they were completed over different periods of time, I thought they would not work together without some blending, but this is the piece after the reveal. No blended needed.
